SERVICES

Environmental

  • Environmental Site Assessments:  Preliminary audits, property transfer assessments, disclosure audits, and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Environmental Planning:  Land use planning, siting of industrial facilities, site/resource evaluations, resource management, and wetland studies.
  • Environmental Impact Statements:  Preparation of Draft and Final Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments (EA) pursuant to current Federal NEPA Statutes and Guidelines, including the requirements relative to the creation of a Mitigation Compliance and Monitoring Program (MCMP).
  • Remedial Investigation, Design and Remedial Action:  Site characterization, release detection systems, remedial alternative development, product recovery/extraction systems design, mapping of subsurface contamination, feasibility studies, monitoring, regulatory liaison, and closure plans.
  • Hazardous Waste Management: Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), in-situ immobilization and detoxification, RCRA Part B permit application and regulatory assistance, waste classification, isolation and containment, hydrocarbon investigation/remediation, and pollution prevention/waste minimization.
  • Solid Waste Management: Site selection, landfill design and development, permitting, construction monitoring/management, liner design and testing, geotechnical/hydro-geologic studies, leachate collection design, monitoring system design, corrective action investigations, and post closure monitoring.
  • Underground Tank Services: Site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling and analysis, risk analysis, monitoring well installation, toxicity testing, closure/remediation services.
  • Water Resource Engineering and Management:  Geologic, geotechnical and environmental services in support of development and management of surface water and groundwater.  Services include:  evaluation of groundwater supply, aquifer definition, sitting and development of water wells, well field design and yield estimates, pumping tests and stress analyses, recharge studies, subsidence studies, water quality sampling and testing, computer modeling of groundwater flow paths, leachate collection/disposal, monitoring programs, pollution transport modeling.
 
 

 

 

Geotechnical

  • Feasibility, Site and Selection Studies:   Development of appropriate preliminary/final geotechnical recommendations through evaluation of slope stability, landslide engineering, expansive/collapsible soils analysis, and laboratory testing of soil/rock mechanics.
  • Soil and Foundation Engineering:  Development of appropriate geotechnical design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slabs-on-grade, earthwork, surface and subsurface drainage, buried metal products, pavements; laboratory analysis of both soil and rock and evaluation of seismic characteristics of foundation materials.
  • Engineering Geology:  Geologic hazard mapping and reconnaissance; determination of locations and seismic characteristics of faults; geophysical investigations; remote sensing imagery interpretations, and slope stability evaluations.
  • Earthquake Engineering:  Dynamic properties determination; retrieval and evaluation of available earthquake data; development of significant ground-motions and response spectra; seismic slope stability evaluations, liquefaction studies, and seismic design recommendations.
  • Field Performance Measurements: 
  • Design, installation and operation of field instrumentation systems for measurement of ground movements, wave energy, groundwater levels in situ soil and rock strength tests and clay liner permeability testing.
  • Pavement Design-Management:  Evaluation of pavement materials and pavement performance, nondestructive testing through falling weight deflectometry, design recommendations for new flexible/rigid pavement sections, and reconstruction, resurfacing and restoration of existing pavements.

Materials Testing & Inspection

  • Geotechnical-Construction Observations:  Geotechnical observations during construction including excavation assessments, soil identification, compacted fills, driven piling, drilled piers, footings, retaining walls, shoring, anchors, post-tensioned tendons, and drainage systems.
  • Construction Materials Testing:  Testing of earthwork, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, reinforcing steel, roofing, fireproofing, and synthetic liners for compliance with construction specifications.
  • Special Inspection:  Special inspection of soil, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, structural masonry, structural steel & welding, structural steel & bolting, and spray-applied fire proofing per IBC Chapter 17 requirements using ICC-, ACI-, and AWS-certified personnel.
  • Welding & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):  Liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, visual welding inspection, weld qualification procedure and welder certification.
  • Anchor Testing:  Pull testing for epoxy-installed and mechanical dowels, bolts, and expansion anchors.
